EPISODE 32

The following is a semi recap plus review plus opinion on the specific episodes, emphasising more on the review than the recap. Spoilers alert and highly opinionated. Read at your peril.

I've waited so many years for you take on a disciple and with a blink of an eye, you've banished her. But I suppose this is the best ending... - SXM

4 years, and that is the end of HQG and BZH's relationship as master and disciple. But before we get there, for those who are wondering when is the bloody kiss gonna show, it is in this episode but heavily censored. I will say more when I get there. If there is anything I like about this episode, it is that one pivotal moment HQG grabbed NMT by the neck and threatened to kill her and NO ONE will feel her actions unjustified. NMT is the super bitch in this episode again. Even Shuo Feng can't stand her.

But first, shifu's poisoned state #4...

If there is one series that painfully show the effects of a poison, let it be known The Journey Of Flower is the authoritative series on that. 4 episodes in, still poisoned and not getting any better. But there is a solution...

Let's recap.

DFYQ got back the hankie to a very grateful HQG who wanted to burn it but couldn't. Basically she admitted her feelings about BZH to DFYQ and in the end DFYQ sadly noted;

You've drawn him, that is why you couldn't burn it. You have much affection for it ..

And he volunteered to take the hankie from her and deal with it and HQG reluctantly but in the end willingly give it to DFYQ. Here is also a short quote that was filled with meanings. HQG kept saying thank you to DFYQ who told her this was the one word he heard most from her since he knew her and he sadly observed;

Gutou, one day you will realise you owe me nothing.

NMT woke up and realised whatever dream she had was real. She ran to Mo Yan who was busy chastising Shiyi for running after a worm and everyone at Changliu knew it and NMT arrived and wanted to seek justice for the wrong done to her.

Excuse me, did I hear right? Wrong? What wrong was done to her? She stole some one's hankie and it was right? Why is there double standard when it comes to NMT?

Anyway she couldn't speak. Mo Yan asked Shiyi to check her for any spells and he could detect none. Mo Yan knew it was a powerful spell and told NMT to write it down and she wrote this..

Ha! Ha! Ha! Mo Yan got very angry and chased NMT out.

Meanwhile HQG was taking her bottled blood to her shifu when she saw NMT. Long story short, she asked NMT to let go and NMT basically said "ne-vaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!". HQG went to her shifu who quickly pushed the bottle out of her hand an d HQG swore to continue to do what she is doing to save her shifu whilst she thinks of a way to save his life for good and he suddenly calmed down and told HQG to follow him. They went to the main hall where Mo Yan and Shiyi were there and told HQG to kneel and with Mo Yan as his witness, he cut ties with HQG as master and disciple. Reason was because of the whole NMT debacle. Mo Yan

felt HQG should be banished from Changliu but BZH basically told Mo Yan to shut up. So basically, HQG was now move out of Hall Of Emotionless, no longer a special student status of BZH but still a disciple at Changliu. Super! HQG refused. She kneel, her fellow friends also kneel except NMT of course but SXM came out and gently told her that just move out, he will talk to BZH later on this. Of course that is a lie.

SXM did go to see BZH. I suppose that step stone that BZH always stand to look at the world is accessible only from his room. Anyway, that was when he said what he said in the quote I chose but BZH was silent. He was pondering, he was sad, he was reluctant. Much affection for his disciple but he knew this tough love was the only way to safeguard her. I feel for him.

HQG was pondering as well, as she remembered the good times and I always wanted to comment on this particular moment when he taught her how to fly on a sword...

Ha! Obviously sitting on a car!! So funny!

Anyway so sad.... so HQG reluctantly leaves Hall Of Emotionless and before she did, she kneel before her shifu's room and made a promise...

Shifu, Xiaogu is leaving Hall of Emotionless. Xiaogu can't be by your side anymore. It is with the blessing of heavens Xiaogu could have the luck to become your disciple. Xiaogu swear, Xiaogu will not rest, until Xiaogu finds the antidote. Shifu, even if it means my life. Wait for me shifu!!!

What she didn't know was shifu was not in his room, he was outside looking at her  and he left her with a heavy heart.

Pause.

NOT IN LOVE YET!!

Continue. 

So HQG back to low status quarters I suppose and guess who was there to rub it in? NMT and the 2 silly disciples, Qing Luo and Hou Yi were there and they tried to stop NMT from bullying HQG but HQG had had it. When NMT attached Qing Luo who drew her sword, HQG grabbed NMT by the throat (too gently in my opinion) and NMT said..

If you dare, kill me in front of them..

And HQG, looking rather angry and pale replied..

Don't force me..

Ha! Kill her I say! Because she huffed and puffed and left and Qing Luo and Hou Yi didn't even seem shocked by HQG's reaction. They in fact encouraged it and welcomed HQG back and HQG felt... saddened to be back.

Anyway I do like the feisty HQG. She is not easily bullied  and nothing to stop her now since she is no longer BZH's disciple. 

HQG alone at some garden and DFYQ rushed to her, surprised so much had happened in a day. She confessed to DFYQ shifu's greatest secret and how to help shifu and DFYQ said only Yi Xiaojun can answer that question. HQG said she will see him immediately even if she can't return after that but DFYQ said to himself she will get to come back. That masked DFYQ. So HQG flew to see DFYQ in disguise. She asked her question, he said it could be done but she will have to pay a price. The price? Her life and she swore she will return with her life once shifu is cured. He changed his tune and said no, not her life, but a dinner where she will cook for him. Surprised, she quickly went to the kitchen and prepared a gourmet that even DFYQ in disguise commented looked great and she could have been a cook in the palace. A great compliment. She happily smiled and he gave her the answer;

It is not impossible to cure the cauldron poison.  What you need is the magical deity item called Yan Shuiyu (Flaming Crystal in the translation but I suppose Flaming Crystal Jade? I bet it's the one that is worn by HQG). With Yan Shui yu, you can neutralise the poison

Only problem? Yan Shuiyu has been missing for many years. But DFYQ said solution is simple. Gather all 9 magical deity items, open the seal and the Flaming Crystal will return to the 9 magical items. That's how you find it.  But a catch is opening the seal may cause the seal that binds the Demon God to be broken and Demon God reborn. So HQG had to be careful. HQG began to check off who had all those items and knew it would be very difficult. However she promised once she got her chifu cured, she will use the ink stone to return all the items to its rightful guardians and be careful with the whole demon god thing. DFYQ gave her a book which will teach her how to break the seal when she get all the 9 items and so she left, thanking DFYQ.

DFYQ took off his mask and he is joined by Lu Qiao the brow less assistant and Donghua as he ate HQG's cooking and said how he envied BZH, getting to eat the food she cooked every day and living with her at Hall of Emotionless. So Donghua took the opportunity to advise DFYQ to let go, since BZH is poisoned and hurting BZH hurts HQG which in turn hurts DFYQ and here is where I hate DFYQ again. He helped HQG but always with a motive. He said slyly..

It would be much better to see BZH suffer as he looks on at the emergence of the demon god than to see him die of the poison

Urghhhhhh DFYQ!!! Why? Why when I like you you become like this, again?!?!?!?

HQG rushed to DFYQ since she can't read the text and reluctantly he agreed to help translate. But before that, he basically cried out in frustration that HQG is doing this out of love for her shifu, beyond that of master-disciple and she basically admitted that and said her often quoted line;

But I only wish to be his disciple forever, to be by his side forever. I'd rather not grow up, ever

DFYQ basically confessed his love for HQG and said sadly..

One day Gu Tou, remember when you and BZH are no longer possible, there is always me, I am always here, waiting for you

So why are you hurting HQG? Are you helping her? I think his motive is to help her. The whole talk about BZH suffering, looking at emergence of the demon god is just DFYQ trying to justify why help BZH.

Anyway she learned the steps and yeap, got it all done! Her mantra now is "Save shifu, save shifu, save shifu" so she was worried if she was gone looking for the items, what if Shifu needed help? So she bottled some blood and went to see her shifu (sneaking in) and saw shifu on the floor, vomiting blood and she rushed to him, again he pushed the bottle out of her hand and basically shouted at her;

GET LOST HUA QIANGU! YOU ARE NO LONGER MY DISCIPLE! YOU CAN'T ENTER HALL OF EMOTIONLESS!! GET LOST!!!

Now now, BZH being BZH didn't really shout but raised his voice which was a big thing anyway. Poor HQG left.

In what is a weird moment, amidst all the things HQG had to deal with and she is one high EQ person, she also had to do laundry. So there she was doing laundry and guess who came to disturb her? Yeap, NMT who was angry she couldn't solicit some anger from HQG. Is she in love with HQG? Why is she always doing this? Ignore her, she gets angry. Angry with her, she gets angrier. No way of pleasing that bitch. Shuo Feng arrived and took a hit for HQG, vomited blood. I tell ya, in this series, if you've never vomit blood at least once, you have never been in this series at all!! NMT left and HQG fainted. Shuo Feng carried her to the ice bed and saw her wrist and suspected something. He asked her what happened to her wrist but HQG refused to answer, only promising she will explain everything one day. So Shuo Feng asked no more. Shuo Feng met with NMT at the waterfall and NMT swore never to leave HQG alone and was so angry Shuo Feng being nice to HQG. 

Pause here for a moment.

NMT does not realise how HQG probably wants to be in her position. NMT is doted on by her loving father who is still alive, basically can do everything she wants without consequence, and she has Shuo Feng as well. HQG is an orphan and the only person she has in Changliu apart from Tangbao is BZH. The rest like Mo Yan hates her. Her life will be hell without BZH. NMT? Happier life and yet here NMT claims HQG had it better than her. I can't understand her logic. Moreover, she doesn't have to be blood bank to her shifu!

Shuo Feng emotionally grabbed NMT to stop it! Stop it at once! NMT was shocked for a moment and then recovered and sneered;

In the end, it is for HQG..

NMT will hate HQG more if what happened to Shuo Feng in the book happens to him in the series. However I read in the book there was no hint of romance between Shuo Feng and NMT.

Meanwhile HQG was drinking herbal stuff when duan nian acted strangely and she knew something wrong with shifu. She rushed to Hall of Emotionaless to see shifu going crazy and censored.. censored.. censored.. he is on top of her sucking blood from her lips and she closed her eyes....

In the book it was explicit. She basically felt her first rush of arousal, here of course it is more like resigned to her role as blood bank. What was censored? You can check out "THOSE BLOOD SUCKING AND BITING SCENES" post. It is all there. Quite a lot censored, like bite on the arm, neck and pushed down and  the last scene you will see in here. He was drawn to her blood by the way, not by lust, in case you're wondering. He couldn't resist. Unfortunately one fellow student saw BZH on top of HQG and immediately scolded HQG for being a seductress, a slut and rushed to tell all to Mo Yan and gang and poor HQG, so busy already, now had to deal with this busy body.

What happens next? Ahhh next episode!

I really sympathise with HQG. That girl had so many things going on at once, it is basically a miracle she can keep going. I also sympathise with BZH. He had to make a difficult decision. Perhaps he should have asked SXM to take HQG as his disciple, which will protect HQG from the likes of Mo Yan.

I can't stand NMT anymore. But so many episodes to go where she will still act high and mighty. Her complaint is always how HQG is so arrogant and walking on air sort of attitude. I feel that fits NMT more.

Anyway I am no longer angry at the censored scenes. What's done is done. Whilst it is pervy in here, the way BZH aimed straight for her lips, so when you're watching this scene, do remember, he aimed for her neck then her lips for one sole reason; her blood. He was maddened, seduced by it and he was no longer in control. This was a pivotal scene for HQG because it was her sexual awakening, no longer  a child with womanly desires stirring. The whole scene was described as semi erotica and I remember reading the translation where BZH actually licked her lips. Ooooohhhh... as for BZH, he lost total control. For a man so in control, this moment which he won't remember was when he lost total control. You can read the English translated chapter here. Interesting and do bear in mind I believe HQG in that scene was 14 in appearance? Or was it 12? Point is I see a lot of erotica drawings about BZH and HQG and HQG often depicted as child like. Please don't do that. Even if she is an adult, in a child's body, that is still wrong. I don't want this series to be terms paedophilia's dream, more so Wallace Huo as a pedophile. Which I guess is why Wallace was very careful in this portrayal. I felt upping the age of HQG helps, if not the series if based on the  book is rightfully banned. Let's keep it clean.

No complaints whatsoever on the acting. Top notch stuff and the kissing scene is not erotica at all which I like it. I like it better this way.

I just realise HQG is always fainting, on ice bed, on her own bed sick, etc etc. Poor girl.
